ParentSquare

ParentSquare is our district's all-in-one communications hub. It sends emails, texts and phone calls to parents at the frequency and in the language you want while storing everything that's been sent to you in a convenient and easy-to-use app (or website, if you prefer).

Inside the app, you'll find messages from teachers, reminders from your principal and news from the district, which you can respond to if you need more information. Plus, you'll find tons of other features that allow you to stay connected and easily do more than ever before, including:

  • Online forms and permission slips
  • District-wide events, RSVPs and reminders
  • Conference, volunteer and event registrations
  • Online credit card payments for field trips or other fees
  • Customized groups for athletic teams, extracurricular activities and more!

Once you've been successfully connected, your children and news, messages and information related to them will be pre-populated, allowing you to start immediately receiving and sending messages from within the app.

If you are accessing ParentSquare via a computer for the first time, please sign in under the "Sign Up" box (on the right) by entering the email account or your mobile number that you have on file in your Q account.

If the system does not recognize you, please follow the directions to request access, and we'll get you "squared" away as quickly as possible during school hours.

Please see our FAQs below to help you troubleshoot any problems and customize your ParentSquare settings to your preferences.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • All parents are automatically given a ParentSquare account after they’ve registered their child. The next step you should take is to verify your ParentSquare account either on the app or online by entering your email address and phone number that you used when registering your child. To verify an account:

    • On the app, enter your email or cell phone number. The email and/or cell phone number should match what you entered into Q, the school’s registration system. The first time you do this, you will need to complete a two-factor authentication by entering in a code that’s sent to your email and/or phone number.
    • On the web, click SIGN IN and enter your email or phone number, and then click GO. Then, please complete the two-factor authentication if needed.

If the email or phone number is not recognized by ParentSquare, you can follow directions to request access or call the school office and ask them to update your contact information.

Once you've been successfully connected and confirmed your account, news, messages and information related to your children will be pre-populated, allowing you to start immediately receiving and sending messages from within the app or online.

  • ParentSquare allows you to customize your notifications based on notification type and select your preferred delivery method for each school. If you select INSTANT, you will receive all post notifications in real time. If you select DIGEST, you will receive a compiled email of posts around 6PM daily. If you find that school notifications are overwhelming, the DIGEST setting will reduce the number of emails/texts/app alerts you receive daily. All parents are automatically set to receive a DIGEST as we recommend this setting; however, you can customize your notifications to your liking by following these steps:

To view and set your notifications:

    • On the app, sign in and tap on the three stacked lines in the upper left corner, then click on ACCOUNT and then click on NOTIFICATIONS. You can toggle your settings between INSTANT (all communication is sent to you as it's created) and DIGEST (you'll receive a compiled message around 6PM daily). Please note that you can change your settings individually per building if you have kids in different schools.
    • On the web, sign in and click on the down arrow next to your name in the black bar. Click on MY ACCOUNT from the drop down and then click on the NOTIFICATIONS SETTING along the right side of the page. You can toggle your settings between INSTANT (all communication is sent to you as it's created) and DIGEST (you'll receive a compiled message around 6PM daily). Please note that you can change your settings individually per building if you have kids in different schools.

NOTE: Please do not toggle off “school alerts.” This is how we alert you to school closures, delays and other weather-related emergencies.

  • You can set your account so that you receive and can write messages in the language of your choice.

    To change your language:

    • On the app, sign in and tap on the three stacked lines in the upper left corner, then click on ACCOUNT and then click on PREFERENCES. Tap on the LANGUAGES setting to select the language you'd prefer to receive messages in.
    • On the web, sign in and click on the down arrow next to your name in the black bar. Click on MY ACCOUNT from the drop down and then click on the LANGUAGE SETTING along the right side of the page.

You will now receive and be able to send messages in your preferred language. (Don't worry--your teacher will receive your response in English.)

  • It is in your best interest and we strongly recommended you verify your account for two reasons:

    1. You will be able to make sure we are contacting you the way you want and the phone and email numbers you intend for us to use.
    2. You will have limited functionality of many of ParentSquare's features, such as not being able to complete forms and permission slips.

You have our word: Your information is not sold or shared or used for any other purpose other than school communication. However, even if you do not verify your account, if we have your email and phone number on file, you will still receive an email digest at the end of each day that communication is sent. In the event of emergencies, phone calls will be sent as well.

  • No worries! You can reset your password by clicking FORGOT PASSWORD. The system will send you steps to reset your password at the email you have on file in Q.

  • Please contact your child’s school so that we can make the appropriate changes in Q, which integrates with ParentSquare. Please allow 1-2 school days for your changes to go into effect.

  • Parents in the district who share their phone and email addresses with us will still receive messages even if they don't download the app. However, you will certainly enjoy the convenience of the app and how it centralizes all communication into one place and gives you access to other great features such as a school calendar, forms, permission slips, RSVPs and more!

  • Yes! On the app, tap the hamburger icon (three stacked lines) and then click on ACCOUNT and then  PREFERENCES and then select ADD EVENTS TO CALENDAR.

Alternatively, you can also download or print the calendar if you prefer. From a computer, sign into your account, click on VIEW ALL next to the calendar on the left side of the screen, and then click on those buttons at the top of the screen.

  • Yes! ParentSquare is called StudentSquare for students, and is available as an app or on a computer for students in grades 7-12. Students will use their school-issued myexeter.org email addresses to log in.
